Haryana Power Utilities (HPUs) i.e. Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL), Haryana
Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (UHBVNL)
& Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (DHBVNL) are carrying out the work of Transmission,
Generation and Distribution of electricity in the State of Haryana. Haryana Power Utilities (HPUs) have
decided to undertake recruitment of Assistant Engineer/ Electrical cadre and Assistant Engineer/Civil
cadre against the available vacant posts meant for direct recruitment based on GATE-2019 or GATE-
2020 result & Socio-economic criteria and Experience.

AGE LIMIT:
Eligibility of age limit is as on last date of submission/ receipt of application form i.e. 08-01-2021.
The age limit for the post of Assistant Engineer is 20 to 42 years.
SELECTION PROCESS:
i. The candidates who have acquired the essential qualification as mentioned at Sr.No.3
above and must have qualified the GATE-2019 or GATE- 2020 (Graduate Aptitude Test in
Engineering-2019 or 2020) as the case may be, conducted by designated IIT in
corresponding paper i.e. Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and
Civil Engineering (CE) shall only be eligible to be considered for selection.
ii. The selection of the candidates in each category would be done by the HPUs from the
eligible candidates as given in para-(i) above, on the basis of result of the GATE-2019 or
GATE- 2020 (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering- 2019 or 2020) & Socio-economic
criteria and Experience, in the respective discipline as per requirement of HPUs.
iii. The qualifying marks in respect of GATE-2019 or GATE- 2020 (minimum cut-off) shall be
as declared by GATE-2019 or GATE- 2020 Organizing Institute i.e. IIT Madras in 2019 &
IIT Delhi in 2020 for respective GATE paper/ discipline/ category given as under:-
iv. The scheme of marks in respect of selection to Assistant Engineer (Group B) post shall
comprise of total 100 marks, which is detailed below:-
1.Weightage of GATE Exam: 80 marks [The normalized GATE Marks (out of 100) would
be converted/ scaled out of 80 Marks by multiplying with 0.8]
2.Socio-economic criteria and Experience: 20 marks
