केन्द्रीय औद्योगिक सुरक्षा बल 1969 में अस्तित्व में आया, तीन बटालियनों के साथ साधारण सी शुरूआत करके उन सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रमों (पीएसयू) को एकीकृत सुरक्षा प्रदान की जो वर्षों में अर्थव्यवस्था की उंचाईयों पर थे । चार दशकों की इस अवधि में केऔसुब ने कई गुना वृद्धि की है कि आज कार्मिकों की संख्या एक लाख उनतालीस हजार तथा चार सौ तक पहुंच गई है। अर्थव्यवस्था के भूमण्डलीकरण तथा वैश्वीकरण के साथ केऔसुब आज पीएसयू केन्द्रित संगठन नहीं रह गया है बल्कि यह देश की प्रमुख बहु-कौशल युक्त सुरक्षा एजेन्सी बन गया है जिसे देश के अलग अलग क्षेत्रों में प्रमुख महत्वपूर्ण संस्थापनाओं को सुरक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए अधिदेश दिया गया है। इस समय केऔसुब परमाणु संस्थापनाओं , हवाई-अड्डों , समुद्रीपत्तनों , विद्युत संयत्रों , संवेदनशील सरकारी भवनों तथा विरासत स्मारकों को सुरक्षा कवच प्रदान कर रहा है। केऔसुब को हाल ही में सौंपी गई महत्तवपूर्ण जिम्मेदारियों में दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल कॉरपोरेशन, वी.आई.पी. सुरक्षा, आपदा प्रबंधन तथा हैती में यू.एन. की फार्म्ड पुलिस यूनिट की स्थापना शामिल है।
Applications are invited from Indian citizens who have retired from Indian Army for engagement in Central Industrial Security Force in the rank of SI(Exe.), ASI(Exe.) , Head Constable/GD and Constable/GD on Contractual Basis. The engagement would be contractual and appointee shall be engaged for a period of 1 year initially which may be renewed on year to year basis for 2 more years.
